Children's Summer Classes

Clay, Mosaic and Collage Summer Workshop at the GlynnArt Pottery Studio.  Debbie Craig and the Glynn Art Pottery Studio are the place this summer for creating with clay and collage for children 7 and older.  Class size is limited so reserve a place now!

July session:  July 28-August 1

Who: Children 7 and older

When: Monday-Friday from 10am-1pm Students bring a bag lunch, GAA supplies the drinks  

Where: Glynn Art Pottery Studio at 217 Skylane Road

              in McKinnon Business Park off Demere Road. 

Cost:  $125 non-members/$115 members (supplies included)

Drawing, Painting, Masks, Paper Arts, and Tooling Foil Reliefs 

Two sessions:   July 14-18

Week-long class for children 6-11 years old with instructor, Pam Bailey

Cost: $80 per week (supplies included).

 

Students learn about the elements of art and the principles of design while drawing, painting, and also creating their own masks with paint, found objects, and paper.  Book-making, paper folding and weaving are just a few of the art techniques that are included in paper arts.  Students  use tooling foil to make a low relief sculpture.

3-D Art: Rain Sticks, Zany Wire Sculptures, and Good Fortune Boxes

Two sessions: July 14-18

Week-long class for children 6-11 years old with instructor, Terry Craig

Cost: $80 per week  ( supplies included)

Students create three-dimensional artwork while learning about the elements of art and the principles of design.  Students make and decorate a rain stick, sculpt zany wire sculptures and use collage to personalize a Good Fortune Box.

Botany and the Artist - Trish Rugaber, artist and botany professor at Coastal Community College will give an overview of botanical illustration history, observation of plants, and basics of botanical illustration.  All students will draw and paint a final project.

Unless otherwise stated, Non-Members $95/6 week 2 hour course; Members $85/6 week course. Many of our classes offer drop-ins at a fee of $20 to $25 per class.
