Glynn Art Association features learning and entertainment opportunities throughout the month, like Open Studio days, Tai Chi Tuesday mornings and pottery classes. However, there’s more to Glynn Art Association than the pleasant painting classes and a tasteful gallery. Glynn Art Association hosts some of the most delightful art festivals and events in the area.
Art in The Park - April
When spring finally comes everyone is looking to be outdoors again, and there’s no better place to be than one of Glynn Art Association’s signature art festivals. Visitors to Pier Village already love strolling along the charming and scenic streets of the pier area, breathing in the spring air. Glynn Art Association’s Art in the Park has had them looking for treasures, too. Far from being just for paintings, this festival is a pottery show and a jewelry show as well. This event has long been a visual arts display at its fullest and best, from fiber arts to mixed media.
This festival is for original works in a variety of forms and hosts food venders in addition—perfect for making a day of gift shopping and artistic appreciation.
Art Under the Oaks - September
Art Under the Oaks combined beautiful art with one of the most beautiful, colorful times of the year. Down by the oceanside, this festival is beautiful not just because of the art, but because of the scenery, as well. Visitors have enjoyed everything from holiday fun and browsing among the various works of art to finding beautiful furnishings and decorations for Thanksgiving and holiday season, or for all year round. This festival offers the chance to appreciate completely original works of art Glynn Art Association festivals are known for under the historic live Oaks of Georgia.
Empty Bowl - October
A fundraising event with America's Second Harvest. Guests can not only enjoy the art, but they can go home with a charming handmade bowl complete with a delicious soup dinner. The bowls are created in and donated in Glynn Art Association classes just for this event. This festival’s unique combination of the chance to enjoy a delicious soup in a beautifully handcrafted bowl lets guests watch as the tables become the impromptu display for the generous creativity of the Glynn County community. All proceeds go to America's Second Harvest.
Mistletoe Market - December
An excellent art festival for completing that last minute Christmas shopping. Shoppers at the Mistletoe Market can deck the halls with beautiful wreaths and perch ornate or gorgeously simple ornaments on the Christmas tree, discovered while making memories at this charming festival. Treasures include unique hand crafted gifts like handmade shoes, pottery and jewelry. There's also always plenty of gorgeous photography and paintings. Shoppers can also snack on the delicious pecans while they find that perfect fiber art piece, or that exquisite vase. Gourmet toffee, woodfired pizza and more will fill the air with scrumptious smells and complete the shopping experience.
